Hello, I am Denada.

I grew up in Athens. At the age of 18, while studying Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology at the University of Athens, I took up jewelry making as a hobby.

Polymer clay was my material of choice, as it allowed me to take my first steps without having access to specialized machinery and equipment. Shortly afterwards, I realized that it would become my favourite material, the base of my jewelry in the future. After a lot of experimentation, I eventually had the self-confidence needed to participate in my very first exhibition in Athens.

But I was always attracted to nature. So, after graduating, I decided to leave the city. I moved to Corfu, where I started creating jewelry for a living. The old city of Corfu, known for its arts and romanticism, dramatically affected my jewels.

Feeling the need to improve and to combine polymer clay with other materials, I decided to attend the Silver-Gold-Smithery School of Stemnitsa, in the Peloponnese. Fascinated by the majestic landscapes of mountainous Arcadia, I decided to keep living and creating jewelry here, more than a thousand meters above sea level but just a few meters "away from the river", which is what the name of Zatouna, the village I live in, means after all.
After a decade of experimenting mostly with polymer clay, I wanted to incorporate various other materials into my work, so after graduating the Silver-Gold-Smithery School of Stemnitsa, I started combining my favourite material, polymer clay, with 925o silver, copper, brass, semi-precious stones and wax thread.

l like making colorful pieces which usually feature some of my favourite flowers. Poppies in particular have a special place in my heart and that shows in my work. My inspiration comes mostly from my natural surroundings and my travels. All works are created by hand. Every piece is unique. I make them, model them, photograph them, and send them to you.
