How does The Meet Market e-shop platform work
More specifically you agree that when purchasing an item through the TMM platform: (i) you are not buying directly from TMM but from the maker who had handcrafted or collected your chosen item; (ii) TMM does not consist part of the transaction that is taking place between you (the customer) and the maker; (iii) the makers are solely responsible for ensuring your rights as consumer (e.g. shipping, delivery, personal data protection, right of withdrawal).
TMM provides you a useful built-in tool to communicate with your makers. You can use that to communicate with the makers, send and receive messages to request any information about a product or if you want to return an item, or you want to clarify anything related to your order. You may not use that message box for the following reasons and activities:
1. Sending unsolicited messages that contain promotions, advertisements or anything spam
In case you receive any inappropriate message (unsolicited messages, spam advertisements, obscene or vulgar content, abusive, defamatory, threatening, harassing or any other content violating our Policies) through our communication thread you may report it. Be aware before sharing personal information that is not needed for the completion of a transaction.
After receiving your item / Returning an item
When you purchase an item you are purchasing directly from the maker of your choice and support their own independent business through our community. TMM provides the space for you to meet with the enterpreneurs’ stores where you can find all the information you need regarding the products, the shipping dates, their policies etc.
We recommend that you take close look to the products’ specific attributes, the shipping details (estimated delivery date, delivery costs etc), the total cost of the products you purchase and the return policy of each maker, taking into account the nature of the product you are about to buy. Also make sure you provide accurate billing and shipping information.
After receiving your item you may find yourself totally fulfilled with your purchase and this is what we and your makers aim for. However it is possible that you may want to return what you have purchased. Each maker has their own return policy which you should advise before you proceed to any transaction. According to the European legislation you are entitled to a 14-day period within which you can perform your “right of withdrawal”, meaning that during that period you can return the item for any reason. In order to perform your right of withdrawal, you need to contact your maker through the TMM communication thread and inform them that you want to return a purchased item following their instructions.
Non returnable items
Keep in mind that some of the products sold through the TMM are non returnable because of their nature (custom made products, products that have been altered, worn, used, washed or discarded, perishable goods etc). For a better understanding we strongly suggest that you read each maker’s return policy for items that cannot be returned.
TMM Customer Support
In case you have never received the ordered item, you have not received what you have ordered, or you have received your item damaged, you are encouraged to communicate with the maker through the TMM message tool and report the problem. In case you cannot reach a solution with your maker, we are here to evaluate the case and support you in our discretion by either facilitating a full refund, including taxes and delivery costs or by sending you the item you ordered in a proper condition. Your refund maybe granted to you in the form of a TMM Credit.
Reviewing an item
After purchasing a product you may leave a review and rate the product through our one to five stars rating tool. By leaving a review you help other users through your own experience as a user of the product. You also help the makers build a good reputation or improve themselves and their goods. Taking into account the increased influence that the reviews have upon the customers you are entitled to leave a review about a product only when you have already purchased it. We ensure that we upload all the reviews, positive and negative. Once you have published your review, your profile information will be published along with your review on the maker’s review page. If you feel like uploading a review, it shall meet some standards.
What your review may not contain
- private information;
- obscene, racist, or harassing language or imagery;
- prohibited medical drug claims;
- advertising or spam;
- be irrelevant with the product facts (deemed as such carrier’s delays, third party services etc)
- threats, extortion, blackmail;
- falsely inflate a shop’s review score; or
- undermine the integrity of the TMM’s reviews system
TMM Gift Cards
You must have a TMM account to purchase a TMM Gift Card. When you purchase a TMM Gift Card, a unique code will be sent to the recipient via email.
The code may be redeemed by clicking the link in the email. Redeeming your TMM Gift Card will add its value to your account balance and allow you to pay for orders. You must have an existing TMM account or register a new one to redeem a TMM Gift Card.
Once a TMM Gift Card code has been redeemed, it cannot be returned for cash value or transferred to another account.
At checkout, you have the option to apply your TMM Gift Card Code. A gift card must be redeemed in one order, covering an amount equal to or greater than its value. If your order total is more than your existing gift card, the remainder of your order total must be paid with a credit card through regular credit card or Paypal payment. Gift Cards are valid for 1 year from the date of issue. Gift Card codes cannot be used to purchase other Gift Cards. Gift Cards can only be redeemed by purchasing products from the TMM E-shop and not from the TMM Events.
