Hi, my name is Alexandra and I am the person behind Mirra Tierra!
Mirra Tierra stands for "land of myrrh" and was named after a beach in Evia, GR where I used to spend my summers. With the same romantic attitude I name all my designs; each piece has an attitude and a personality on its own.
My designs are inspired by everything around me, nature, architecture, people. Mirra Tierra was created as a way to express myself. Hopefully these pieces will become a reflection of your own unique identity and they will accompany you at your special moments. Enjoy!
Each piece of Mirra Tierra jewellery is cut, soldered and polished by my hand. I also work alongside craftsmen for processes like casting and plating.
All pieces are made of recycled .925 silver. Recycled sterling silver is precious silver that is not mined from the ground. Instead, it is produced from extracting the silver from unwanted jewellery, scrap silver, electronics, even medical equipment or other used metal products. Once the silver is separated from the other metals it is mixed with, it is melted down to be reused.
In an attempt to reduce the environmental impact of my work, I also try to use less harsh chemical materials in the jewellery process and sustainable packaging. Mirra Tierra jewellery is packaged in an eco velvet pouch inside a 100% biodegradable kraft branded box accompanied with recycled paper cards, postcards and handwritten thank you notes.
