My name is Antigoni and I am the designer of Thyella Jewellery. I named the brand thyella, the Greek word for thunderstorm, inspired by the force of thunderstorms and the cleansing effect they have.

I draw inspiration from the graphic arts, from the Wild Woman inside me, from unanswered existential questions and I tend to juxtapose all things with death. Death is not only physical, every end is considered a death and it can be challenging yet reforming. Relationships die, friendships die, even past versions of ourselves may die, death is a part of everyday life, philosophically.

Designing for me starts with a rough idea, I create everything by hand and, in the process, the pieces tend to transform into something else from where they start, that’s the beauty of crafting. An idea is transformed into a design, and then a design can become a slightly different item, this flow always becomes my favourite part of the creative process.

The designs I gravitate towards are bold, big, in your face. Everyone is unique and I love creating pieces for individuals who want to express themselves loudly, people who say ‘I’m here’, unapologetically.

My jewellery knows no age, gender, sexual orientation, whoever loves them loves them, and that’s that. To everyone, I say, don’t be afraid to be who you want to be, no apologies and no fucks given. Thyella means storm, give’ em one.

The jewellery is designed and handcrafted in Greece, they are cast in silver 925. I use the wax carving method for creating the pieces, everything is made by hand. After casting, the silver is cleaned and polished by hand to reveal the finished product.
