We are Antonis & Nikos and we live in a small mountain village called Elefterohori (means "free village") in mount Kallidromo, Central Greece. I was a graphic designer when I left Athens to settle into the village in 2009 and Nikos was already a beekeper who grew up here.
I was always passionate about wild life, herbs, plants and mushrooms and when I came here I thought I found paradise! The wild herbs were abundant and in such a stunning variety here! I started collecting, tasting, experimenting with combinations, reading and learning about the greek herbs. At the same time I started bee-keeping with a few hives, and met with Nikos and soon we made a team and started working together. Under the brand "Kallidromo" and the "mountain, herb & honeycomb" as a logo, we produce and collect mountain herbs and apiary products, trying to offer authenticity and quality to our friends and customers.
HERBS: Greek mountain tea) - Sage - Mint - Tilia - Rockrose - Saint John's Wort - Laura - Lemon Verbena - Oregano - Rosemary - Satureja. We grow several herb varieties in small mountainous fields in Kallidromo mountain and we also collect some wild ones, trying to practice sustainable - organic agriculture. The freshly collected herbs are then dried in shadow and packed safely, for a genuine greek herb-tea experience!
HONEY: Fir tree honey is the most famous variety in Central Greece, it has the most balanced flavour and medium sweetness. We also produce Oak and Pine tree honey and several varieties like Vitex, Chestnut, Cotton flower and more. For the last three years, the "Dark Forest" label has become our signature honey variety. It's a very dark brown, thick honey with strong flavour and aroma that we harvest in late July from oak & fir tree forests in our region.
We also produce the famous therapeutic propolis tincture from raw propolis that we collect throughout spring and summer, beewax creams for skin care, with herbal oils and vitamines and many more.
