Description
Ceramic cup, wheel-thrown from stoneware clay, fired at 1240°C, and finished with "blood red" and "moonlight black" glazes.
Dimensions (approximate): Diameter 7cm, Height 7cm.
Capacity: 180ml; Weight: 220g.
The price is for a single cup.
The dual-tone effect, the varying shades, the depth, and the texture evoke a black rose. The "blood red" glaze is a saturated, glossy red with subtle, faint blue undertones. The "moonlight black" glaze is a matte iron-oxide black that yields a rich brown-anthracite hue.
Each cup is unique. The recipes for both the "blood red" and "moonlight black" glazes are exclusive creations developed at the Almas Ceramics Studio.
Details
This cup is made in the potter's wheel, by stoneware clay, glazed and fired at 1240*C. High temperature of stoneware clay serves to extra strength and durability. Its handmade glazing is prepared after different experimentations in the studio.
Handcrafted ceramics may slightly differ in colour, size and shape. Non-toxic and food safe, dishware safe.
Instruction for better use :
- All pots are handmade by stoneware clays, fired at 1240 d. of C, that means that are durable enough to be washed in the washing machine. However, it is recommnended hand washing, as more friendly to non-industry ceramic objects generally.
- Unglazed clay surface is not porous. However, it is recommended not to have constant contact with liquids such as oil or wine, because they can leave a permanent light stain on the surface of the clay.
- It is also suggested that ceramic everyday objects (plates, bowls and cups) are not to be left with substances such as vinegar and lemon for long periods of time because this may lead to color alterations.
- Avoid extreme and sudden temperature changes as it is likely to cause thermal shock to the pieces. Do not put in the oven or in the fire.
Tips
All items are well packed inside a cardboard box, using recycling materials, in order to arrive safely and ecologically to your place.
All shipments are done with Hellenic Post and the national postal operator in your country, in order to guarantee the best price, quality and time.
As I am a small producer I don't have a big stock of items. Orders are usually ready within 3-4 weeks.
